FIFA 23 Ones to Watch is the first major promo of FUT 23, so here’s everything we know about the event including the players involved.
FIFA 23 Ones to Watch is the first major promo of this season’s Ultimate Team, celebrating the most exciting moves from the summer transfer window. Here’s how FIFA 23 OTW will work, along with the featured players.
Ones to Watch is always one of the most interesting and exciting promos in any Ultimate Team season, mainly because it’s the very first major event of the year. FIFA 23 is no exception, as EA shine the spotlight on the biggest transfers of the summer.
FIFA 22 OTW was arguably the biggest ever, as both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo switched clubs in a crazy end to the transfer window. While FIFA 23 OTW didn’t have as many groundbreaking signings to choose from, some of the game’s highest-rated players have been on the move.
Here’s everything you need to know about FIFA 23 Ones to Watch, from how the cards will work to the players involved in the promo.
FIFA 23 OTW started on Friday, September 30, 2022, the same day as the game’s worldwide release date. A mini release for the OTW promo will took place on October 2, 2022.
Ones to Watch always tends to be the first major event of the year, and EA have confirmed that Road to the Knockouts is set to follow OTW as the second promo in FIFA 23.
FIFA 23 OTW will award special live cards to players who have recently moved to a new club. These dynamic items will go up in rating depending on how well the player performs for their club in real life.
Each time a OTW star is handed a TOTW after a top display in their domestic league, the card will increase in rating and stats to match the most recent one.
For example, in FIFA 22, Dayot Upamecano started out at an 82-rated card after his move to Bayern Munich. But, by the end of the year, he was 87-rated and one of the best center-backs that the Bundesliga had to offer.
Much like FIFA 22, OTW items will be eligible for a Wins to Watch upgrade. If a OTW player wins three matches out of their next eight domestic league matches, they’ll receive a one-time upgrade. The window of matches will begin on September 30.
Ones to Watch items will also be able to receive upgrades at the 2022 World Cup with EA’s new Nations to Watch feature. OTW players can earn another upgrade during the tournament: “if their national team wins a game at the FIFA World Cup 2022, regardless of whether the player is on the pitch, on the bench, or watching from home.”

EA revealed the first four players set to feature in FIFA 23’s OTW thanks to the campaign’s promotional art. The reveal focused entirely on Premier League players as last year’s top four clubs brought in reinforcements over the summer.
Players then got a look at the entire promo squad following the mini release on October 2.
Here’s every FIFA 23 OTW player confirmed so far:
FUT players will also have a chance to snap up OTW players via SBC and so far Franck Kessie, Raheem Sterling, and Angel Di Maria’s OTW SBCs have been released.
